My mom is in a care facility out west so we're on constant lookout for breakfast places to eat prior to visiting her. This was today's attempt. It wasn't fancy but it was clean. Think small town diner with locals. People serving us were nice. When Princess wasn't sure about ordering biscuits and gravy the sweet woman brought us gravy in a cup with a spoon for her to try. She noted it was homemade and we could get it just white without pork sausage as well. Princess liked it, with the sausage. I tasted it and it was surprisingly well seasoned and tasty. Unfortunately the "biscuits" were weird. Spongy squares baked in a casserole dish they reminded me of beer bread in texture. Too bad because that yummy gravy deserved better. My denver omelette and hash browns were fine, neither bad nor stupendous. Same for hubbys pancakes and scrambled eggs. Coffee was a bit watery but passable. I don't like their puffy blobs of margerine for toast and pancakes but prefer foil wrapped butter pats. They do have sugar in a pour cannister and cream in little pitchers. That's cool.Princess liked her chocolate milk and the bacon was ordered crispy and came that way. I don't know that I'd go out of my way to return but its an ok place to grab an egg and some toast.

Great wait staff, but, Ewww... I could make better food at home. And the biscuts and gravy: Naaaaasty.... And all this for $12. Not worth the money I paid. The positive feedback on this site must have been from freinds and family because this stranger thinks that this food sucks. The interior of the restaraunt needs an updated overhaul by a professional interior designer, it looks like a family shrine with tastless family photos everywhere. Restaurant impossible HELP THIS PLACE!!!!

If you are a foodie, this restaurant is not for you. It has traditional American breakfast. Eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns and coffee. The biscuit looks like a large piece of tan colored cornbread. It comes with packets of fruit jam and whipped yellow stuff (not butter). It lacks flavor. Bacon and eggs were cooked perfectly as ordered.

Really, I never knew this place existed until my friend brought me in once. It resides directly across from Safeway, in the same plaza, and next to Jade Green. It's difficult to notice since the sign outside is extremely worn and blends into the general dinginess of the facade. Perhaps this merely speaks to the longevity of the business and not the lack of attention to upkeep? I got the chicken fried steak, per usual. (That's pretty much my meter stick for any breakfast joint). I don't remember much about it, so it must have been serviceable but not amazing. The biscuit, however, I do remember. It looked magnificently large and buttery and full of promise. I was excited to try some homemade biscuit! But it fell far short of my expectations. Rather, it was cold, dry, and crumbly and made me sad. I don't like being sad at breakfast.

Tasty breakfast, reasonable prices, courteous staff... what's not to love? Both the chicken fried steak w/ home fries and the Denver omelette w/ hashbrowns we ordered were excellent-- and each also came with a huge home made biscuit! The coffee was pretty good, too, and the family that runs this cafe were all very friendly and attentive. Great little cafe!

Great simple breakfasts. All available with egg whites. Fast service with a smile. Though I do live in town so I'm kinda biased.

Like one other reviewer stated I didnt even know this place was here, its not marked very well. Of course I always saw the sign but didnt know what was behind the door. Its a pretty cute clean place. But like one other reviewer wrote I dont like being sad at breakfast...the hashbrowns where those kind that are dried and reconstituded which is not a deal breaker for me I dont mind those. I ordered eggs benedict and the hollandaise was watery, as in too runny and not enough taste to it (I had asked her ahead of time what kind of sauce they use and she said Knorr which I actually like) they obviously added too much water to it though. This was way too expensive for what you get period...8.95 for a meal thats worth about 4.95, in my opinion. And the banter between the customers and employees was so loud that you couldnt talk to the person that you're there with and I dont think they care if you dont like it if you know what I mean. Kinda low class. Would not eat there again.

As far as I can tell, this is pretty much the only place to get breakfast on Sundays in Forest Grove - one local explained to me, "Forest Grove sort of rolls up the carpet on the weekends." For this they probably deserve another star--after a few desparate incidents of staring into darkened windows at a deli and at Maggie's Buns. Heaping stacks of food for average prices (FOUR bacon slices with most of the breakfast choices!), very friendly staff--seems to be family run, and a wide variety of breakfast and lunch choices. Large post-church clientele of bluehairs too. It felt very much like the Platoni ideal of an American diner, down to the comfy, overstuffed bar stools along the counter.

Love this place for Saturday morning (hungover) breakfast. Large portions, always leave stuffed. Prices are low. Service is great. Has odd hours, but is open every morning. This is the breakfast place in town.
